I am interested in booking a bonsai training workshop:
Our training courses are held at our workshops in Baldersby near Thirsk just off the A1.
You will spend your day informally with like minded people and learn a lot about training and maintaining your own special tree.
You can either bring your own tree with you or purchase a suitable tree on the day.
We also sell a wide selection of bonsai pots so we are sure to have something suitable for repotting your bonsai. You can view a slection of our bonsai pots here.
What Can I Learn At A Bonsai Workshop
Richard Reah learned his bonsai craft in the company of Louis Hawksby known to some as "Yorkshires Mr Bonsai". Louis started on the bonsai road at the age of about seven and on retirement passed on his business to Richard knowing that he was leaving it in capable hands.
Never the less Richard has had to learn his craft over a number of years and benefitted from many hours of bonsai tuition. Richard regularly visits Flower Shows in England and Scotland where he plys his trade. To get some idea of how well Richard's displays are received at the shows then download the show results from here -

Yorkshires Mr Bonsai
At our Bonsai Workshops you will learn about different types of trees, the most suitable types of tree for bonsai and styles of bonsai trees. The bonsai pots, potting medium, how to water and where to keep your bonsai
will be discussed. Repotting Bonsai Trees will take place at the right time of year if requred.
The fun part of the
bonsai workshop though is styling and creating your own bonsai, restyling where required wiring your tree to the desired shape and learning when and how to
cut bits off. At the end of the day you will leave the workshop with the confidence and knowledge on how to treat
your bonsai keeping it healthy throughout the year.
